This morning, as I was about to make healthy pancakes for breakfast, my stove died. It’s been on it’s last leg for quite some time and we’ve been putting off getting a new one for no good reason. So, not only is no cooking happening here (other than microwaving, crock potting, and grilling), there’s no clay baking! Now I really am going to be forced to do some polishing and jewelry making with all the beautiful beads I have already made.
So, what did I do tonight? I mixed up some metallic silver and black clay to make these:
They’ll make an awesome necklace once they are cured and polished, but for now, they’ll just have to wait till I have an oven that works! If the pattern looks familiar, it’s because I used my new blue texture sheet that I used for the purple and orange pendant to add texture.
Here’s a mystery – last night, while working with the gold and copper mokume gane, I put a stick of clay in the freezer to firm it up for slicing, and forgot about it. I searched the freezer while ago, and no clay! Hmmm…..
Off to clean the freezer and to shop online for a new stove!
